Android Wear, the Google operating system for such wearable devices as smartwatches that allows users to view notifications, see who's calling on an Android-based smartphone and get relevant information through Google Now, is starting to reach customers. The LG G Watch and Samsung's Gear Live are now available, and customers who have gotten their hands on such Android Wear-based products will go hunting for applications that will expand the usefulness of those devices. Although the Android Wear OS platform is in its infancy, already many developers have been entering the Google Play marketplace with apps that many will find appealing. These apps range from ones that improve personal productivity to programs that allow you to find some essential information while you are on the go. All of them add much-needed functionality to the smartwatches and will help determine whether or not Android Wear devices in particular and wearables in general will prove their value in the field. So read on through the following slides to learn more about Android Wear apps and how they could improve the overall usage of those devices running the operating system.
