Consumers are turning to their smartphones and tablets more frequently than ever when it comes to shopping, and with the holiday season poised to kick off very soon, there's no sense in waiting to get your hands on the tools that will help you beat the crowds, find the perfect gift and track your budget. Forty percent of holiday shoppers use mobile shopping apps, and about 30 percent of the rest would consider using one this holiday season, according to a survey released this past week by Wanderful Media. The survey found 51 percent of shoppers are very interested in receiving mobile notifications regarding holiday deals and sales, and 20 percent of them have already signed up to receive mobile sale alerts. In addition, 77 percent of shoppers use their mobile phones while shopping. Finding store locations, comparing prices, browsing circulars and finding out about sales at nearby stores are the top ways in which shoppers use their phones to aid their shopping efforts. Compared with last year, there is a 70 percent increase in the number of shoppers who prefer using Websites and apps to research the latest holiday deals, the study found. Take a look at this list of apps to see which ones can make your shopping travails less stressful and more jolly. The good news for those on a budget this holiday season is that all the apps are free.
