Acer America is bolstering its trusty enterprise ultrabook line with more computing power, thanks to a series of Intel processor upgrades that will improve performance and allow users to expand their multitasking capabilities. The company's TravelMate P645-S ultrabooks are now available with fifth-generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, which include high-performance Broadwell chipsets, starting at $949.99, according to a May 7 announcement from Acer. The TravelMate 645-S machines are built using an ultra-thin design and 14-inch carbon fiber-protected lids, along with spill-resistant keyboards and tough chassis that withstand the rigors of travel for enterprise workers. The machines are also available with optional ProDock docking stations that allow users to plug their TravelMates into their home or office systems without having to attach individual monitor, mouse and keyboard cables each time they redock. The updated TravelMates offer up to 8 hours of battery life due to improvements in power management from the Broadwell chipsets. Peruse this slide show for more details.
