Apple loves to debut new products on the ninth of the month. Besides the Sept. 9 event at the Bill Graham Convention Center in downtown San Francisco, Apple has staged events exactly a year ago on Sept. 9, 2014 (when Apple Watch and Apple Pay came out), and, in one of Steve Jobs' last public appearances, on Sept. 9, 2009, to introduce new features—including a new version of Guitar Hero—for the iPhone and iTunes). At this latest event, the Cupertino, Calif.-based company upgraded its top sellers big time—introducing the 12.9-inch iPad Pro; the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus; and an upgraded Apple TV, the first major update since its 2007 introduction. Apple certainly needed to breathe new life into the iPad, the sale of which had leveled off during the last 18 or so months. Because the iPhone is by far the company's greatest-selling device, that, too, needed a refresh. The new 4K camera and 3D touch features that come inside the iPhone 6S and 6S plus are welcome additions. Here, in this slideshow, are highlights of the latest Sept. 9 event.
