Luxury Swiss watchmaker Breitling has announced its first-ever connected watch, the $8,900 Exospace B55, a titanium-encased timepiece that connects to a wearer's Android or iOS smartphone to provide a wide range of notifications. The components and design of the Exospace B55 were developed, assembled, finished and tested in Switzerland, including its internal SuperQuartz Swiss movement, just as the company's previous luxury timepieces were created. The B55 is a classic chronograph with modern high-tech electronic features, including notifications of incoming emails, Short Message Service (SMS) or WhatsApp messages, phone calls and reminders of upcoming appointments. The B55 has a 1.8 inch diameter and includes timer, lap timer, countdown, time zone and a wide range of other features for use by professionals. Also built into the watch are chronograph functions used by pilots, for example, flight time calculations such as takeoff and landing times. The face of the watch includes two integrated LCD displays for easy information retrieval by users. Peruse this slide show for more information on the Exospace B55.
