BYOD: Best Practices to Future-Proof Your Corporate Policy
Advice on bring-your-own-device (BYOD) strategies is everywhere, and for good reason. Gartner has called BYOD the "most radical change in the economics and the culture of client computing in decades." BYOD has evolved from a progressive move to a norm, and adoption is only expected to increase. By 2017, Gartner expects half of employers to actually require employees to use their own devices for work. With these sea changes will come not only new opportunities but also challenges and changing expectations from workers. In a recent report, Gartner analyst David A. Willis discusses the impact of BYOD and its evolution and makes eight key recommendations. Employee satisfaction "significantly improves" when BYOD policies are introduced, Willis wrote. "But this wave has only just begun, and attitudes may change as employers get more aggressive with policy."
