Hewlett-Packard has unveiled two refreshed Chromebook 14 models that now include optional Full HD displays and new Intel Celeron processors that promise more performance than the Nvidia Tegra units that were built into previous models. The new Chromebook 14 G4 is being targeted to SMBs and education users, while the standard Chromebook 14 is aimed at consumers. Both machines can be configured with an optional 14-inch Full HD SVA WLED In-Plane Switching anti-glare display or with a standard 14-inch HD SVA WLED display. The G4 comes with console-based management tools that include multilayered security for employees or students and administrators, as well as enhanced virtualization and VPN capabilities for secure and seamless management of multiple devices. Both Chromebook 14 models also can be used with a $35 Google Chromecast dongle to mirror content onto a larger-screen device such as an HD television to expand the entertainment and presentation capabilities of the machines. Peruse this eWEEK slide show for more details about both Chromebook 14 models.
