HP has unveiled a new portable computer aimed at enterprise workers—the Elite x2, an innovative and lightweight tablet with a 12-inch Full HD LED display that can quickly be converted into a well-equipped notebook machine when combined with one of two optional keyboards. Starting at $899 with an included pen stylus and a low-profile traveling keyboard, the Elite x2 runs on Microsoft Windows 10 and can be configured with two different sixth-generation Intel Core M processors. Also available are a range of 128GB to 256GB solid-state drives (SSDs) and three optional docking stations for business users who want to simplify their use of the machines in their offices. The Elite x2 also includes enterprise security and manageability features, such as BIOS-level security with integrated HP SureStart and HP Touchpoint Manager, to make the device easier to manage and deploy by IT departments. The machine is available now for preorder from HP and will be shipping by January 2016. Peruse this eWEEK slide show for more details about the new HP Elite x2 tablet.
