Lenovo's Latest Smartphone, the Moto Z Play Droid Edition, Debuts

Lenovo's latest Moto 4G LTE smartphone, the Moto Z Play Droid Edition, went on sale in the United States exclusively through Verizon Sept. 8, and will be accompanied a week later by an innovative snap-on Hasselblad camera module that will add a wide range of expanded photographic capabilities for users. The device will sell for $408 after 24 monthly payments of $17, and the Hasselblad True Zoom module will sell for $249.99. The Moto Z Play Droid Edition features a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, estimated battery life of up to 50 hours on a charge and a Qualcomm octa-core processor. The handset, which will be known as the Moto Z Play elsewhere around the world, also features a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, a fingerprint reader for device and user security, an aluminum frame and a glass backplate. The Moto Z Play is scheduled to go on sale later this month in Europe for about $558. In October, the Moto Z Play Droid Edition phone will be offered in a GSM unlocked version in the United States for $499.99.
