The new LG Lancet smartphone that Verizon Wireless is offering customers has a low price tag, Windows 8.1 and a wide array of useful features, including the ability to communicate using HD audio with compatible devices. The Lancet—priced at $120 without a contract, $19.99 with a two-year contract or for $5 per month on Verizon's Edge no-interest 24-month payment plan—is the first Verizon phone to include Advanced Calling 1.0, which provides HD-quality sound for phone calls to users who also have phones equipped with the feature. The Lancet also has a 4.5-inch LCD display, a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 8GB of internal storage (of which 4GB is available) and a 2,100mAh lithium-ion battery. The XLTE network-ready LG Lancet is available online and will be in Verizon stores, starting May 21. New customers who bring their existing mobile number to Verizon can get a $100 bill credit within two to three bill cycles for each new smartphone activated on Verizon Edge, for a limited time.
