LG's Coming G4 Smartphone Offers High Style, Performance

LG will soon release its latest G4 flagship smartphone to take on the Apple iPhone 6, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and premium handsets from other competitors in the always-turbulent smartphone market wars. The G4 will battle the competition in style, boasting vastly improved front and rear cameras, an upgraded display and a more powerful six-core processor, as well as other refinements. The beefed-up G4 will get a 16-megapixel rear camera, replacing the 13MP unit of the older G3 smartphone, as well as an 8MP front camera, which replaces the 2.1MP camera of the old G3. The new G4 is the first to use LG Display's new 5.5-inch In-Plane Switching (IPS) Quantum display, which offers 20 percent greater color reproduction, a 25 percent improvement in brightness and 50 percent greater contrast than previous displays. Pricing and availability dates for the G4 have not yet been announced, but Sprint said it will offer the phone to its customers by June. AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular will also offer the G4, which will be sold through Best Buy and Amazon as well. View this slide show for more details about the G4.
