Apple on Feb. 13 announced that it had updated its MacBook Pro with improved processors. The company also said that it would drop the price of its high-end Retina-display-equipped MacBook Pro to an entry point of $1,499. The company’s thin and lightweight 13-inch MacBook Air can now be purchased for $1,399 to differentiate it from the Pro’s price cut. In other words, it’s now cheaper than ever to buy a MacBook Pro with Retina display or a MacBook Air. But price isn’t the only reason that someone would want to buy one of Apple’s notebooks. The iPhone maker has for years been delivering high-quality Macs. The fact that the MacBook Pro is now the world’s most popular notebook is a testament to its ability to attract customers. Best of all for Apple, even enterprise users are starting to realize that deploying the MacBook Pro in the office isn’t such a bad idea. Determining the value of the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air is actually easier than one might think. And regardless of the device a customer picks, they’ll find several reasons to justify their purchase. Take a look at this eWEEK slide show to read the reasons why this is a good time to buy a MacBook Pro or a MacBook Air.

The Price Has Come Down

Perhaps the best reason now to buy a MacBook Pro or MacBook Air is that the price for both products has come down. As noted, the MacBook Pro with Retina display now starts at $1,499. The MacBook Air goes for $1,399. Granted, that’s still considerably more expensive than the typical Windows notebooks on the market. But many customers were already buying the Apple products despite the higher prices. Now that the price is lower, they’re even more attractive.
