The new Motorola Droid Turbo smartphone, now available from Verizon Wireless, includes some innovative and welcome features. Topping the list is a high-capacity, 3,900-mAh battery that promises up to 48 hours of power, as well as an included Motorola Turbo Charger that lets users recharge their almost-depleted phones very quickly. The Turbo Charger provides up to 8 hours of additional power after only 15 minutes of charging. That is something worth looking at for smartphone users who are constantly challenged by the often short battery lives in their existing devices. The new Droid Turbo also has a brilliant 5.2-inch quad-HD AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 2.7GHz quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM and a 21-megapixel rear camera with 4K video capture. The device runs Android 4.4 KitKat and is user-upgradable to the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. The phone, which went on sale Oct. 30, is $199.99 for a 32GB model or $249.99 for a 64GB model with a two-year contract exclusively to Verizon customers.
