Motorola's Moto 360 Sport Smartwatch Geared for Active Users

Motorola has just launched its latest smartwatch, the Moto 360 Sport, as a sports-oriented version of its original Moto 360 fashion timepiece, which debuted back in September 2014. The $299 Moto 360 Sport features built-in GPS, heart-rate monitoring, a music player—which all can be used without the wearer carrying an accompanying smartphone—and a new hybrid display that is easier to read in bright sunlight and in normal room light. When paired with a smartphone in a pocket or handbag, Moto 360 Sport users also gain access to Gmail messages and calendar invites, right on the device's watch face. Users can also use the smartwatch to reply to friends on WhatsApp and to get timely traffic and weather reports. The watch can also be voice-controlled using the "OK Google" command in Google Search to get answers to inquiries or send a message without having to touch the device. The Moto 360 Sport will be available online in the United States starting Jan. 7 and through Best Buy stores on Jan. 10. Peruse this eWEEK slide show for more details about the new smartwatch.
