Roku's five new streaming video player products, ranging from $30 to $130, replace the company's earlier Roku 1, 2, 3 and 4 models. The latest devices are smaller and more powerful than the devices they are replacing. For example, the new Roku Express has twice the processing power of the old Roku 1, along with a 40 percent lower price tag and a physical size that's 75 percent smaller than the original. Also announced are the Roku Express+, the Roku Premiere, the Premiere+ and the Roku Ultra streaming media players. The Premier, Premiere+ and the Ultra models are the higher-performance devices in the lineup through included 4K video capabilities, while the Premiere+ and the Ultra also include HDR video capabilities. Roku is still offering its $50 Roku Streaming Stick and its Roku TV models, as well. Roku competes in a marketplace that continues to become more crowded as companies bring out products to go after expanding video streaming demand. Here, eWEEK examines Roku's expanded lineup of streaming video players. Peruse this slide show to learn more.
