Slim Design, Paperwhite Display Make Voyage Amazon's Best E-Reader Yet

E-readers certainly have come a long way in the last several years from the first handheld devices that typically had screens that often suffered from strong glare in many indoor and outdoor situations. Glare problems are a thing of the past when it comes to Amazon's latest top-of-the-line e-reader, the Kindle Voyage. Priced at $199 for a WiFi-only model or $269 for a device that also includes free, unlimited 3G cellular connectivity, the Kindle Voyage is faster and brighter and has a higher screen resolution—300 pixels per inch—than the two other Kindles in Amazon's e-reader lineup. Consumers can also choose to pay $20 more for either version to avoid direct, occasional on-screen advertising offers from Amazon for the company's other products. The 3G-equipped version allows users to download and read ebooks anywhere, anytime in more than 100 countries, even when they can't find a WiFi hotspot, all without extra charge, according to Amazon. The key features of the Kindle Voyage are explored in this eWEEK slide show, which dives deep under the hood to show you what's inside.
