U.S. consumers can now buy the Huawei SnapTo unlocked Android smartphone here as the Chinese mobile device maker begins a push to sell some of its products in the U.S. marketplace. The Huawei brand—well-known in other parts of the world and well-represented with a large, colorful and product-filled display at Mobile World Congress each year—is certainly not a new player in the mobile device segment. Earlier in April, Huawei announced that the SnapTo, which sells for $179.99, will be distributed and sold here in the United States. The unlocked smartphone offers a lot for the money, with everything from 4G LTE (Long-Term Evolution) capabilities to the freedom to use it with the GSM mobile carrier of the customer's choice instead. The SnapTo is available in black on Amazon.com and other retailers, including GetHuawei.com, BestBuy.com, Brandsmart USA, Frys.com and Fry's Electronics retail stores, and Newegg.com. It will be available in white starting May 15. Check out this slide show for more details and specifications.
