A study from In-Stat/MDR published this week counted 40,000 wireless hotspots around the world in 2003. But the number of users was not impressive, said Amy Cravens, the studys author. In a survey of business users, more than half of the users had used a public wired or wireless network, but the majority had done so less than six times a year. A recent study from Jupiter Research had similar findings.
