What do you get when you combine PIM features with

automatic item-sharing with designated team members?

Answer: Acomplice.

Accomplice's PC desktop-based, P2P-enabled organizer, task/to-do manager strives to be a free/fee tool aiming at the turf

between one-person PIMs and project/group management software

Accomplice lets you not only define tasks, schedule items, etc.,

but also prioritize and categorize them, add reminders, do sub-tasks for an 'outline' view, track progress, etc.

to help you focus on your priorities rather than whacking at stuff on FIFO, LIFO -- and sync this sort with your fellow team members, through Accomplice's P2P features.

Accomplice works with a number of prevalent organization/productivity apps, e.g., it can synchronize with Outlook Contacts and Tasks, and spreadsheets. It can synch with your Blackberry, Palm or Windows Mobile device. Item notes can include files and links... and can be set to persist even after you've marked an item as done.

Accomplice runs on Windows PCs with .NET 1.1 Framework. It can run

off-line, dealing solely with local information -- but if you're online,

it can swap items with designated Accomplice-running team members.

While it's not web-based, you can take the app and your data with you, and use it on other suitable computers, by using the "U3" version,

which installs on a U3/Smart-type USB flash drive (see, and doesn't leave any data or other detritus behind on other people's computers.

Accomplice is free -- as long you're willing at tolerate a small area of text. If you want to be able to turn them off, Accomplice costs $29.95/year. To use it productively may take at least

half an hour of practice (there's a Flash tutorial on Accomplice's site) -- I'm not an experienced PIM user, so I may not be the best judge

of this.
