Mac owners can now purchase programs for their desktops and laptops with a single click, just as you can buy songs on iTunes and games in the App Store for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Apple has set January 6, 2011 as the launch date for the App Store, which will be available in 90 countries with free and for-pay software in categories such as education, games, graphics and design, lifestyle, productivity, and utility. On the developer side, Apple says developers will set the price of the applications and get 70 percent of the revenue. They also do not have to pay for hosting, marketing, or credit card transaction fees; Yahoo announced it will be cutting about 4% of its workforce, which would equate to around 600 jobs.
