Acer officials apparently came into the IFA 2015 show in Berlin determined to be heard above the din. The company finds itself in fifth place in a worldwide PC market that has seen shipments decline over the past several years. However, vendors and industry observers are experiencing a feeling they haven't had for a while—optimism. Much of that comes from the combination of Microsoft rolling out Windows 10 in late July and Intel just unveiling its long-awaited Skylake processors, which offer more performance, better energy efficiency and a host of features. That combination also is helping fuel the development of a range of form factors, from two-in-ones and all-in-ones to convertible notebooks and mini-PCs. Acer came to the show with its own array of systems, from powerful gaming PCs, to notebooks, to a modular PC that enables users to build and customize their systems in Lego-like fashion using building blocks. This eWEEK slide show takes a look at some of the new offerings from Acer.
