Apple's success can come down to one simple thing: iOS. The operating system is far more responsive than Android, it's intuitive and it comes with features that customers like. Without iOS, the iPad wouldn't be as dominant as it is.
Apple's new iPad is getting less and less attention in the tablet market right now. Over the summer, Google announced the Nexus 7 tablet, giving it much of the spotlight for that period. On Sept. 6, Amazon announced a new line of Kindle Fire tablets, giving it top billing in nearly all headlines. Even Apple's own iPad Mini, which is slated to hit store shelves later this year, is getting more attention than its larger counterpart.  And yet, Apple's new iPad continues to deliver outstanding sales figures each quarter. The device is a sales juggernaut, and a product that most consumers and enterprise users want to use. That success has come despite having a smaller screen than some of its competitors. And at a price that makes nearly every other slate seem cheap in comparison, it would seem that budget-conscious shoppers wouldn't want anything to do with Apple's tablet. But they do. And even with all the tablets hitting store shelves that are supposed to set a new tone or make Apple second-guess its decision-making, the company isn't doing anything of the sort. Apple's iPad is still leader of the tablet pack. And it'll stay that way for the foreseeable future.
