Identify Software Ltd. next week will announce that it is extending the capability of its AppSight Black Box software to identify problems in applications built using Microsoft Corp.s .Net Framework.
Black Box is installed throughout an IT infrastructure and it records all sorts of problems from user actions to source code executions. Analysis tools in the Identify software spot performance, functional, configuration and user problems within a .Net application and notify the users help desk, IT operations or application development team, according to Identify.
Because Black Box records the problems at their source, engineers can quickly get at the root cause of problems and they dont need to reproduce application errors in a test environment, officials said. Black Box already could monitor Windows and Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition applications.
Identify, of Raleigh, N.C., and Or-Yehuda, Israel, will also announce a partnership with Fujitsu FIP to deliver a new service for managing and supporting Web applications.
As part of the ActiveChase service, application experts from Fujitsu FIP, a subsidiary of Fujitsu Ltd., will use Black Box software to speed up problem resolution and increase the reliability of Web applications. ActiveChase will be available in Japan this month.
