Android is the second most-referenced skill area cited in ads for jobs in Linux shops, according to Linux.com.
Coming in third on Linux.coms list of most-referenced skill areas is C++.
Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) is the fourth most-referenced skill area cited in ads for jobs in Linux shops, according to Linux.com.
The fifth most-referenced skill area in ads is MySQL, the Linux Foundations Linux.com site says.
Linux developers represent the most popular Linux job type sought in want ads, with 53 percent of job ads targeting them, according to Linux.com.
The second most popular Linux job type is system administrators, with 47 percent of employers targeting them, according to Linux.coms numbers.
U.S. Most Popular
The United States is the most popular place for Linux jobs, with 70 percent of the Linux jobs available from Sept. 1 to Nov. 30 being in the country, according to Linux.com.
The second most popular country for Linux jobs is half a world away, in Australia, with 14 percent of the Linux jobs available, Linux.com says.
Germany is a close third, and 13 percent of the Linux jobs are there, according to Linux.com.
U.K. in Fourth
The No. 4 slot belongs to the United Kingdom, where 2 percent of Linux jobs are available.
Canada was tied for fifth place, with 0.5 percent of the available Linux jobs.
Right there at 0.5 percent was the Netherlands, according to Linux.com.
The most popular states for Linux jobs are California, Texas, Georgia, Illinois and New York, the Linux Foundation says on its Linux.com site.
The next set of most popular states for Linux jobs include Washington, Ohio, North Carolina, Colorado, Kansas, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Florida.

The next most popular set of states for Linux jobs includes Oregon, Utah, Arizona, Minnesota, Missouri, Virginia, Maryland, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Washington, D.C., also is included on that list.
