At MIX11, Microsoft gave all attendees a free Kinect 3D motion controller for the Xbox 360. Attendees young and old were as happy as kids in a candy store, or like this kid who got his Kinect through the Boys & Girls Club.

Microsoft said the only native experience of the Web and HTML5 today is on Windows 7 with IE9. And IE10 continues on IE9's path, directly using what Windows provides.

Kinect for Windows SDK Beta

Microsoft announced the Kinect for Windows SDK, which will give researchers and enthusiasts easy access to the capabilities offered by the Microsoft Kinect device connected to computers running Microsoft Windows 7. In an onstage demo, Clint Rutkas of Microsoft showed off a lounge chair on wheels controlled via hand gestures to a Kinect controller—made possible by the SDK. A beta of the SDK is expected later this spring.
