Reaching Out to Third Parties

Cardonet Inc., which offers catalog management software for business-to-business e-commerce, this month announced an upgrade to the Santa Clara, Calif., companys Transactive Catalog. The software works as a production catalog and discovery engine to help companies search for, compare and select products from online catalogs.

Version 3.1 has an enhanced engine that allows customers to use third-party commerce protocols—such as Ariba Inc.s PunchOut, Commerce One Inc.s RoundTrip and SAP AGs Open Catalog Interface—to function as a single- or multivendor remote Web catalog.

Version 3.1 offers a unified way for procurement personnel to improve product discovery for buyers by consolidating externally hosted catalogs into a customized master catalog, eliminating the need to repeatedly "punch out" to multiple vendors sites.

Transactive Catalog 3.1 is an optional component of Cardonets e-catalog automation platform. Pricing starts at $50,000.
