Archiving for Grown-Ups

When it comes to archiving files in Windows, most users are probably more familiar with WinZip or PowerArchiver, but PKWares PKZip 4.5 has more features for advanced users.

Whats more, the PKZip file manager interface is simple to use, with customizable icons in the tool bar.

In tests, the archive window listed the files in the archive I created, and tabs below showed information such as file statistics.

PKZip includes nine levels of file compression, unlimited numbers of files within a .zip file, no limit on .zip file size, split archive capabilities and public-key infrastructure certificate support.

However, all the archiving operations are restricted within the program interface. For example, I couldnt highlight some files and make an archive within Windows Explorer.
