Buffalo Technology to Release Flash Drives for SMBs
The new line from the provider of memory, storage and multimedia platforms for small and midsize businesses will offer a High Speed Type E flash drive, designed for everyday use, and a Type S flash drive, which is designed to help SMBs transfer high-volume files and works with Microsoft Vistas ReadyBoost technology.
"In the age of mobility, portability and security are essential for both business and personal users when it comes to transporting important digital content," Kerry Morris, director of the memory division at Buffalo Technology (USA), based in Austin, Texas, said in a company release.
The Type S flash drive will provide users with read speeds of 27MB per second and will be able to write at speeds of 18MB per second while the SLC (Single Level Cell) chips included in the drive help to double the transfer rate.
Both types will feature SecureLockWare, encryption software from Buffalo Technology that uses AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) algorithms to secure data while offering several security options such as encrypting the entire device or individual files or folders.
"Buffalos new flash drives not only provide the convenience of being able to quickly and easily take your computer data with you; they give you the flexibility to choose the performance level and capacity that fits your needs while offering enhanced security features to ensure your data is protected while on the go," Morris said in the company release.
