Computer Associates International this week will unveil its revamped BrightStor r11.5 platform featuring improved storage management and risk management capabilities.
Currently available, the new version offers streamlined virtual tape automation via a new Microsoft Windows user interface to simplify implementation of disk-to-disk and disk-to-tape backup processes, said CA officials.
CAs new BrightStor Command Center tool provides an up-to-date assessment of resources and performance within a storage environment, as well as embedded identity management and access control functions. The product will be available in 60 days.
To entice smaller enterprises, capacity licensing minimums will be lowered from 10TB to 2TB within 30 days of the launch.
