Two leading InfiniBand switch makers InfiniCon Systems Inc. and Voltaire Inc. on Tuesday announced their presence at the LinuxWorld show with new partnerships geared to ramp up buzz for the technology.
InfiniCon agreed to provide a 128-node InfiniBand-based network fabric to support testing and scaling of high performance computing (HPC) clusters at the AMD Developer Center. The collaboration combines AMDs 64-bit processing with InfiniCons networking technology, which is capable of up to 30G bps.
Voltaire inked an agreement with server maker SGI to craft InfiniBand-driven clusters for SGIs Altix 350 servers. SGI Professional Services will offer InfiniBand products to customers seeking 64-bit Linux cluster solutions based on the SGI Altix platform.
