Winchester Systems Inc., of Burlington, Mass., this week introduced its high-performance FlashDisk OpenRAID, which uses 181GB disk drives to provide 1.45-terabyte capacity in a single enclosure.

The FlashDisk OpenRAID data center cabinet holds nine rack-mount units to store more than 13 terabytes in 6 square feet of floor space.

Each device is designed to hold eight half-high disk drives of 181GB and store large quantities of data. It is available now, and a 1.45-terabyte FlashDisk OpenRAID unit, with eight disk drives, is priced at $53,943.
