Oracle Announces 10th Buy in Six Months
Oracle Corp. will acquire Global Logistics Technologies, aka G-Log, a logistics and transportation management software developer.
The terms of the deal are undisclosed.
G-Logs suite of software allows users to plan, optimize, execute and analyze their supply chain.
It also allows users to chart and execute logistics planninga process still conducted, in many cases, on a white board.
The acquisition of G-Log will boost Oracles capability to provide a more comprehensive supply chain management and logistics suite of products.
Oracle and G-Log are a good fit in the respect that about half of G-Logs customers have Oracle applications installed, according to Oracle.
G-Log also brings a hefty customer roster in the shipping and logistics provider industry, including the likes of Halliburton, DuPont, Big Lots, Giant Eagle, Tesco and Volvo.
The deal is expected to close, subject to regulatory approvals, by the end of this year.
