C&W Expands Business Recovery Services
Exodus, which Cable & Wireless purchased last year, and a team of about 60 professional services consultants are formalizing the Santa Clara, Calif., companys business recovery services around cold, warm and hot site services that leverage the infrastructure already in place in Exodus Internet data centers.
The cold site service provides space, physical security, racks, power and connectivity as well as an alternate data processing site. The recovery time objective for the cold site service is over 72 hours.
Exodus also struck a deal with Rentsys that provides the option of mobile, temporary hardware replacement and office space, according to David Greene, vice president of market development for the Santa Clara firm.
Unlike disaster recovery services offered on a shared basis, the cold site space offers a no-lockout guarantee, Greene said.
The warm site service adds to the base-level service a pre-configured system for clients mission-critical applications. The service includes dedicated equipment required to recover applications within 12 to 72 hours.
The hot site service provides a live site for critical applications along with other services such as monitoring, security and maintenance. Recovery time objectives are under 12 hours.
Exodus intends to expand its team of professionals, but Greene would not specify how many consultants will be added.
The new services are available now starting at $2,000 per month.
