Consumer Group Boycotting Tesco For RFID Use
The retailer, Tesco, began an item-level RFID tagging initiative recently. CASPIAN calls the tags "spy chips," fearing that they can track customer behavior. Tesco’s use of the chips "means that more people will be taking home items containing [RFID] spy chips," said CASPIAN director Katherine Albrecht.
Tesco responded that the company doesn’t intend to track products after they’re purchased.
