Business process automation software maker Versata Inc. and ILOG S.A. announced the second phase of a partnership Wednesday that will result in the creation of customized business process management solutions.
ILOG, of Mountain View, Calif., and Gentilly, Cedex, France, develops software components that help businesses streamline their application development processes. Their components focus on business rules, resource optimization and data services. Under this second phase of the companies agreement, ILOG has developed a connector between the ILOG JViews and the Versata Logic Server Process Logic Engine.
Versatas Logic Engine is designed to give businesses more agility in managing complex processes across an organization, officials said. The JViews Component Suite is designed for building interactive Web-based user interfaces, while the JViews for Workflow provides components for business process modeling and monitoring.
With the combined Logic Engine and JViews connector, companies will have the ability to create an executive dashboard for monitoring business processes, and then incorporate that with an engine for executing processes, routing work and providing integration points with external systems, officials said.
Versata, of Oakland, Calif., and ILOG already have a relationship in place. The two companies announced their relationship earlier this year with the creation of an initial connector product, bringing together the ILOG JRules Business Rule Management System and Versatas Logic Server.
The combination of Logic Server, an application server extension for managing business logic, and JRules brings a unified platform for managing and maintaining business rules.
