Standardization is key for enterprises seeking to analyze their spending patterns.

Zycus Inc., of Santa Clara, Calif., this week is releasing an e-catalog classification product to help companies break down those patterns along commodity and supplier lines.

AutoClass includes built-in support for the industry standard UNSPSC (Universal Standard Products and Services Classification) schema and offers a platform that enables companies to map supplier and buyer schemata to the standard.

UNSPSC is an open coding system that allows companies to uniformly classify the products and services they buy and sell, which helps in developing a comprehensive picture of the companys business.

AutoClass can be deployed through application service providers, OEMs or on the Web. Pricing information was unavailable.
