Sun Microsystems wants to show that it is more than just a high-end enterprise shop.
The Santa Clara, Calif., company, which has traditionally catered to large financial firms, telecommunications companies and the federal government, is looking to expand its reach to include small yet tech-savvy companies with a need for a more robust IT infrastructure to handle Web 2.0 and other business concerns.
To further its initiative, Sun announced a new Web site March 18 that targets SMBs (small and midsize businesses) as well as an expanded program that offers free trials of its products for potential customers, said Christine Beury, the company’s director of systems marketing.
