SuccessFactors Now Spreading Jam Free for Existing Customers

Web-based human resources software maker SuccessFactors, which was acquired by SAP last year for $3.4 billion, on March 28 starting giving its popular Jam media file-sharing application to existing customers for no extra cost.

Jam enables users to quickly share media files such as high-definition video, audio and photos in social networks and on any connected device.

SuccessFactors' 15 million subscribers now can use the community version of Jam for BizX Mobile to publish comments, and capture and share video directly from a smartphone. Employees can view content, share best practices, get trained and work together in real time from any location with their project team.

Jam automatically enables the enrollment of new hires, fills out profiles, suggests relevant groups and connects users through their profile data. This, combined with other means of social discovery, such as files marked "most viewed," "most liked," "featured" and "related content," helps workers find the content and experts they need to help them meet their commitments.

Jam is aimed at streamlining the enterprise on-boarding process, improving communication in talent processes, and sharing and finding expertise across the enterprise.

For an extra price, current users can upgrade to Jam Premier for a more advanced feature set, which includes unlimited storage and groups, connectors to other systems (such as Microsoft SharePoint) and automated group management.

Jam Premier was installed in more than 430,000 seats worldwide in Q4 2011, San Mateo, Calif.-based SuccessFactors said.

Jam became available March 28 as a standard part of the SuccessFactors enterprise platform.
