Canon USA Acquires Tereck Office Solutions
In an effort to expand its support for businesses and provide greater levels of service in the North and South Carolina regions, Canon U.S.A., provider of digital imaging and software solutions, has acquired the assets of Tereck Office Solutions.
Tereck, based in North Carolina,
will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A, the company announced. Tod
Pike, currently president of Canon Business Solutions, will serve as president
of Canon Business Solutions-Tereck, with Ed Ecker, former president and owner
of Tereck Office Solutions, remaining with the business in an advisory role.
"Tereck has built a tremendous reputation for providing industry-leading
imaging and document management solutions and support to companies in the North
and South Carolina regions, and we are excited to bring Tereck into the Canon
family," said Joe Adachi, president and CEO
of Canon U.S.A. "We take pride in offering the most comprehensive array of
office imaging solutions, and this acquisition will enable us to provide even
greater levels of service to businesses and end users in the Carolina
regions."
Tereck is an independent value-added reseller of document imaging and print
solutions, including imaging hardware and software, printer fleet, and
facilities management services. Founded in 1997, Tereck grew into a prominent
provider in the imaging market and was ranked by the Triangle Business Journal
among the 50 fastest growing companies in the Triangle Region. The company
currently has more than 70 employees between two offices.
"We are extremely pleased to join the Canon family and look forward to
providing our customers with the best hardware and software services for their
business needs," said Ecker. "Through this acquisition, we will be
able to offer our customers an even more robust portfolio of solutions while
also positioning Canon for continued growth in the Carolina
regions."
Canon expanded its services on a much broader scale earlier this
year, collaborating with FedEx to create a network of printing and imaging
capabilities, giving customers access to new technologies and an extensive
machine fleet. The network will provide benefits such as new devices, including
Canon's ImageRunner Advance multifunction products (MFPs) and ImagePress
digital press systems. In addition, advanced software tools from Canon will
enable FedEx Office employees to monitor the installed device fleet to help
ensure optimum working status and reduce potential downtime delays.
