Open-Xchange, SpamExperts Partner for Secure E-Mail
Open-Xchange, a provider of business-class open source collaboration software, and SpamExperts, a provider of e-mail security solutions for Internet service providers and Web-hosting companies, announced an agreement to deliver integrated e-mail security to cloud providers that offer Open-Xchange groupware as a service.
The fully managed ISP solutions by SpamExperts can be installed directly on the servers of the service provider -- or run as a hosted cloud service on redundant SpamExperts servers in 10 secure data centers around the world, while updates, 24/7 monitoring and regular maintenance help ensure filtering accuracy at all times. A quarantine system, full API, reporting and many more functions allow full control of e-mail flows and integration into existing systems.
"With the combination of Open-Xchange and SpamExperts, SAAS providers can deliver greater value to their SMB customers, while differentiating themselves in the competitive market by offering professional, secure and affordable communication solutions," said Rafael Laguna, CEO of Open-Xchange. "By integrating the Open-Xchange and SpamExperts software, considerable cost-savings accrue that improve service providers' competitive position."
SpamExperts customers come from more than 100 countries and include large hosting companies, which offer OEM solutions under their own brand name. The first joint Open-Xchange and SpamExperts customers benefiting from the integration include LuxCloud in Luxembourg, and NovaTrend from Switzerland.
SpamExperts provides professional e-mail security solutions to ISPs, Web-hosting- and telecommunication companies as well as small and midsize businesses. The company boasts more than 1 million filtered domains. Besides a filter for incoming e-mail, SpamExperts also offers an outgoing filter protecting IP-ranges of Web-hosts from blacklists, as well as an e-mail archiving product.
"Accurate and cost-effective spam protection is essential for every e-mail server," said Sam Renkema, CEO of SpamExperts. "While organizations that run their e-mail server in-house should use SpamExpert software as a service, we offer ISPs the ability to have their own SAAS installation to further reduce cost and sell in high volumes to their end customers."
OpenXchange provides on-premises versions called Open-Xchange Server Edition and Open-Xchange Appliance Edition, along with Open-Xchange Hosting Edition, which enables Web hosting companies to provide an application delivered as SAAS. The Open-Xchange Hosting Edition is architected to integrate into a hosting provider's existing infrastructure, such as authentication, provisioning, billing and e-mail storage and does not require that these systems be replaced.
