Enterprise Mobility: Apple`s White iPhone 4 Finally Released on Verizon, ATandT
The white iPhone 4 arrives on the market nearly a year after the initial debut of its all-black twin.
Apple reportedly wrestled with some production issues in bringing a satisfactory version of the white iPhone 4 to life.
Like the other iPhone 4, the white version features a 3.5-inch Retina Display with 960-by-640 resolution.
In addition to Apple retail stores, the white iPhone 4 is available through AT&T and Verizon, both of which carry the original iPhone 4.
Apps and iTunes
Apple is hoping its App Store, with hundreds of thousands of apps, and extensive iTunes catalog of movies and music will give it a strategic advantage against the burgeoning number of Google Android devices on the market.
The iPhone 4s body features two panes of chemically strengthened alumino-silicate glass, sandwiching a stainless-steel antenna rim.
The rear-facing camera was one of the components rumored to prove troublesome in constructing the white iPhone 4. According to unnamed sources speaking to various Apple-centric blogs, the tinted glass allowed light to leak into the aperture.
In the United States, the white iPhone 4 will retail for $199 for the 16GB model, and $299 for the 32GB model (with a two-year contract).
Here is the 5-megapixel still camera at work. The device also shoots 720p video.
The iPhone 4 boasts advertised battery life of up to 7 hours of talk time on 3G, and Internet use of up to 6 hours (also on 3G).
