BlackBerry 6 Appeals to Business Users, Media Junkies

RIM wanted to retain the BlackBerry home screens familiar look, but also update it with sleeker-looking icons and a somewhat more streamlined interface.
The BlackBerry 6 interface has been designed for easy access to the Connections, Alarm and Options screens.
In that "easy access" theme, BlackBerry 6 allows you to tap the home pages Notification Bar to see your most recent e-mails, phone calls and calendar updates.
BlackBerrys Universal Search application not only hunts through your smartphone, but also Web resources such as Google and YouTube.
BlackBerry 6 takes a multimedia-centric approach, in a bid to compete more heartily against Google Android and the Apple iPhone.
BlackBerry 6 allows users to customize their home screens.
Music can be loaded onto the device via BlackBerry Media Sync.
Photos can be organized by event or date, viewed as a slide show, shared and explored via "pinch-to-zoom."
Videos in BlackBerry 6 can be played in three sizes (original, fit to screen, full screen), and shared via the YouTube video uploader.
The BlackBerry 6 camera mode offers a variety of scene modes, including "Sports" and "Party."
Users can search for new multimedia apps via BlackBerry App World.
