Handspring Inc. last week announced Version 2.0 of its wireless Web browser, which runs on wireless devices that run Palm OS.

Blazer 2.0 will be included in Handsprings upcoming Treo family of wireless devices as well as in upcoming phones from Sprint PCS, which licenses the browser, said officials at the Mountain View, Calif., company.

New features in Blazer 2.0 include the ability to bookmark 100 sites and enhanced security. Besides 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer encryption, Blazer supports proxy and HTTP authentication, which enables users to make more-secure wireless Web purchases and other transactions.

Blazer 2.0 is available now for $19.95 on www. handango.com and on www.palmgear.com. Handango Inc. and PalmGear. com will e-mail Blazer 1.1 customers instructions on downloading a free upgrade to Blazer 2.0.
