Xerox Offers Line of WorkCentre Multifunction Printers
Aimed at budget-minded small to medium-size businesses, the Xerox WorkCentre 7120 color multifunction printer is designed to print high-impact color documents, such as presentations and budget charts.
The MFP prints color and black-and-white documents at speeds up to 20 pages-per-minute (ppm) using Xerox's Emulsion Aggregate High Gloss (EA-HG) toner, which the company said produces smaller, more consistent toner particles to create crisp text and sharper color images. Starting at $6,999, the WorkCentre 7120 will be available in the Americas in May, while the WorkCentre 5700 Series will be available worldwide starting in May for $7,475.
The WorkCentre 7120 is equipped with advanced document management
features such as document routing to e-mail, network and content
management software simultaneously for repeatable workflows, advanced
color scanning up to 55 ppm, faxing over IP, fax forward to e-mail and
scan to or print from USB and Xerox Auditron, which monitors color
printing costs. In addition, it offers environmental and efficiency
features such as sleep mode, which consumes 3.08 watts of power, route
and preview incoming documents on the interface or at PC to eliminate
needless printing and Earth Smart print driver defaults including
two-sided printing with no banner pages. As part of Xerox's Green World
Alliance, all printers are Energy Star-qualified.
In addition, Xerox is updating its line of black-and-white MFPs. The
Xerox WorkCentre 5700 Series includes seven MFPs with print speeds up
to 90 ppm. The WorkCentre 5700 Series comes equipped with advanced
security features, including full support for the IPv6 network security
standard, Image Overwrite to electronically "shred" data, fax isolation
to prevent unauthorized access to data and Network Authentication to
restrict access to scan, e-mail and network fax features.
"Today's MFPs do far more than copy and print - they improve the way
work gets done," said Rick Dastin, president of Xerox's global product
delivery group. "The WorkCentre 7120 helps SMB's maximize office
productivity and produce affordable, impactful color documents. With
advanced document security and workflow tools, the WorkCentre 5700
Series can help IT departments solve their most difficult document
management challenges."
Both the WorkCentre 7120 and WorkCentre 5700 Series are built on
Xerox's Extensible Interface Platform (EIP), a technology that can be
used to create customized workflow applications. For example, a law
firm could scan information directly to a client folder from the MFPs'
color user interface without specifying the client name.
