The World Wide Web Consortium has created the position of CEO and named Steven Bratt to the post, effective Jan. 20.
Bratt held the position of chief operating officer at W3C. As CEO, he will continue to oversee worldwide operations and outreach, including overall management of member relations, the W3C Process, staff, strategic planning, budget, legal matters, external liaisons and major events, according to the organization.
Bratt came to W3C in 2002 and, in addition to COO, has served as acting chair, W3C officials said.
