We're Getting Really Interactive Here at eWEEK

The Station is often asked: "Where do you get all the ideas for your articles?" Truth be told -- and the truth is always written here, mind you -- that not all the stories we write are originally conceived by the bylined person.

Knowing this must disappoint some readers, but we're not afraid to report that ideas for stories in eWEEK come from all directions -- from ourselves, editors, professional story idea people, companies looking to get their names in print before millions of eyes, other reporters, the black market, other publications, readers like yourself -- the ideas come from all over.

You might have noticed that eWEEK has a slightly new look and feel to it lately -- it's not optimum yet, but it's getting there. This is because we have installed a new CMS (content management system), and all CMS's tend to look a little different in each deployment.

This new CMS now allows us to publish articles and then invite a little discussion, or Internet interaction, following each one. So you'll be seeing notations like: "Hi, I'm Chris Preimesberger, senior writer with eWEEK, covering storage, virtualization and other things on a daily basis. What was your take on this story? Do you you agree that [company name here] is way off base putting out this [software product name here] at this time, because nobody really gives a [favorite naughty word here]?"

Well, hopefully you get the idea. We're creating a more personalized, interactive kind of publication here at eWEEK, and by thunder, we're going to make it happen. Please make it a point to talk back to us when you reach the end of one of our articles; let us know whether you found it interesting, relevent, or even irrelevant. Let us know if we hit on all key points or left something important out. If we did leave a black hole, then we can follow up and publish a better story next time.

Truth be told, we want the truth be told all through our beloved publication so you can get the goods every time you look us up.
