Making a Business Case for Vista, Revisited

Some Windows watchers are questioning the math of a business user mentioned in the Microsoft Watch column "Is There a Business Case for Windows Vista?" They note that users will be able to run Vista Enterprise on cheaper, less powerful PCs than the robust and expensive "Vista Premium" PCs that will be on the market. Yes, you can, as I noted, too, if you don't care about full-fledged Aero "Glass." Many businesses will be OK with basic mode. (If you aren't, I'd argue that XP is probably going to be just fine for you for several more years.) As beta testers running Vista have noted, you are not going to be able to run Aero Glass well – if at all -- on low-powered, low-priced PCs.
