Brother Launches Printers Aimed at Small Businesses
Print services specialist Brother launched two color inkjet printers in the INKvestment line that eliminate the need to purchase ink for up to two years and that are priced at $199 and $299.
The printers also enable the scanning of docs to cloud services like Dropbox, Google Drive and Brother cloud apps. The MFC-J985DW XL combines the MFC-J985DW with 12 Super High-yield INKvestment cartridges in the box.
"It's important for small business owners to approach their print management strategy the same way they would approach any other technology decision for their company—by first evaluating the specific needs within their environment," Eric Dahl, director of marketing for inkjet and SOHO laser products for Brother International, told eWEEK. "Many small business owners invest in print devices that don't offer the types of speeds and feeds they actually need. Cost of printing can sometimes be an afterthought until it is time to buy ink."
He explained that understanding print volume can aid in choosing a machine that offers a comfortable yield per cartridge and an affordable cost of printing, and suggested searching for devices that will save money over time and offer less frequent replacement of ink cartridges.
Users of Brother’s new printers can also scan documents to Brother Cloud Apps such as Office, the Outline& suite, NoteScan and CreativeCenter.
