Businesses can create, edit, delete and view key record types including leads, customers, sales orders, invoices, expense reports and more.

Cloud-based financials, enterprise resource planning (ERP) and omnichannel commerce software suites developer NetSuite announced the availability of NetSuite for iPhone 2.1, an ERP application for Apple’s iOS 7, which offers new capabilities for mobile users to conduct business on the go.

Standard NetSuite data encryption, enterprise-grade password policies, additional authentication layers and role-based field-level security are all enforced on the mobile app to help ensure data privacy and safety. To provide additional protection, administrators can stay in control and manage mobile access using role-level permissions.

Featuring a revamped user interface designed to complement Apple’s new iOS 7 layout, the free application allows sales reps to improve customer service with a 360-degree customer view, placing sales orders and addressing customer requirements at the point of interaction.

Businesses can create, edit, delete and view key record types including leads, customers, sales orders, invoices, expense reports and more, and home dashboard synchronization allows for access to ERP Business Intelligence (BI) content including key performance indicator (KPI) metrics and scorecards, trend graphs, report snapshots and more.

Other features include saved searches, which allow users to get all the results and drill down to the record level using any existing NetSuite Saved Search with expanded swipe action support. The searches also allow businesses to map customer locations, initiate phone calls, respond to events or switch into Edit mode.

Complete activity management allows businesses to manage calendars across list, week and month views, and view other calendars including those of fellow employees, while business action support helps approve sales orders and expense reports, convert estimates, accept customer payments, bill sales orders and more.

In addition, a localization feature adapts to specified NetSuite language settings and supports multiple currencies, and record customization support means all existing customizations including custom forms, fields and scripts are supported.

"The quickening pace of business and a fast-growing mobile workforce require rich mobile applications that extend data access and transactional capabilities from the desktop to mobile devices," Malin Huffman, NetSuite’s director of product management, said in a statement. "NetSuite for iPhone takes the value proposition of the NetSuite cloud a step further by delivering mobile capabilities critical to today's on-the-move professionals."

In October, the company announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire human capital management (HCM) specialist TribeHR to create an integrated cloud enterprise resource management and HCM software suite for small and midsize businesses (SMBs), although terms of the deal were not disclosed.
