Syntonic Launches Split Billing Platform for BYOD Businesses
The solution is available to IT through a self-service portal for employee, device, and app provisioning, analytics, and billing.Syntonic announced DataFlex, a split-billing solution designed to deploy, operate, and manage bring- your- own- device (BYOD) usage. The platform provides split billing—the separation of personal from business use—on any mobile operator network, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. The solution is available to IT through a self-service portal for employee, device, and app provisioning, analytics, and billing. To support company and department level budgeting and forecasting, Syntonic enabled automated reporting and notifications. Employees download the Syntonic DataFlex app from the AppStore or GooglePlay and log in once with their corporate email. This starts the split billing service for that device. DataFlex was designed to simplify complex heterogeneous environments, and to do so, Syntonic supports any operator, any application or website, any device, any operating system, any expense management system, and any enterprise mobility management (EMM) solution.
"Most businesses are daunted by the potential complexity of BYOD and they either hold off formalizing their BYOD policies or they try to do too much," Gary Greenbaum, CEO of Syntonic, told eWEEK. "A first step is to separate business mobile data from employee personal data; otherwise known as split billing, to gain a better understanding of how business data is being used within the enterprise. BYOD is rapidly changing, and BYOD policies and technologies need to remain both flexible and adaptable."
